What are you doing to set your massage business apart form others? Do you offer the latest modalities, are you learning new techniques? Are you keeping up with the industry to see what is new out there? What about offering at home care for your clients between sessions? How is your environment? Are you giving a cookie cutter massage or are you tailoring your massages to each client that walks in? There is a lot that goes into setting your business apart from others and these are just some of the questions you should ask yourself. If you are looking to expand your business and make sure you have clients coming in the door to keep your business open make sure that you are doing these things to bring in new clients and to ensure that your current clients are coming back:
Also make sure your business is clean, not just your blankets and sheets after each client but making sure there is no dust, the floor is vacuumed/washed, if the rooms need a fresh coat of coat, give them one. A good way to see what needs to be done, is to become the client yourself, see what they see when they are sitting in the chair going over the intake form with you and look around, lay on the bed and look around making sure the ceiling doesn’t have water marks on it, or if it needs work done to it.
~ Are you giving all your clients the same massage no matter what issue they come in with? This cookie cutter massage maybe what some people want but other may want you to tailor your massage to their needs and that can be done just by asking them what they are looking for today and what they want you to focus on or maybe what areas they do not want worked on. These are just some of the questions you should ask yourself when trying to set your business apart for others. The number one question you can ask yourself should be…what makes your business unique? Be honest! If the answer is nothing then comes up with something that can set you apart from others. It doesn’t have to be something major, maybe you add steamed towels to every massage or you offer a take home product after each session. Make it unique to your business! The Enlighten Team
